weekend to remember

for christmas my awesome friend, linnea, got me jacks mannequin tickets for this weekend. her mom drove all the way to moorhead (about 4 hours) to get us! we had so much fun. we shopped until we thought our feet had transformed into bloody stumps (i know how gross this sounds, but seriously-- it was bad) after shopping we went to the concert! we didn't really want to stand in line, because as linnea put it, "we look too cute to stand in line." so we didn't get to stand in the front row, but we still had a great spot. we witnessed a cat fight and our feet got even more sore, but we had an unbelievable time. i'm looking forward to doing it again!!

oh...and did i mention linnea's neighbor FLEW us back to moorhead? hmm..ya. it was awesome. the sky is so much more sunny above the clouds.
i had a great weekend, i hope you did too.

guilty pleasure

would you believe my guilty music pleasure is really provocative rap?

it is.
my ipod is full of indie, acoustic, alternative, and folk. but every once in a while a rap will slip in there. that's when i crank the volume and rock my socks off. i'm not a "rap" person. but here are a few that would make my all time playlist:

  • Shake that Ass for Me - Eminem ft. Nate Dogg
  • Sugar (On my Tongue) - Ludacris
  • Candy Shop - 50 Cent
  • Smoke Weed Everyday - Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dog
  • My Band - D12

February 14-16

I've been busy!
For starters, my Valentine's Day was awesome! Brade and I went to Valentine's Day, the movie. (Not that great, but cute) after that I told Brade that I would be cooking supper for him! (This is a big surprise because in the 2 and a half years we've been dating I've never made him any type of food at all. I'm an awful cook.) I was really scared! I texted my mom about every 2 minutes. I made baked mashed potatoes, bbq chicken, corn, and chocolate covered strawberries. (I know that one chicken looks burnt to a crisp, but I assure you it wasn't.) I did a good job! After the meal Brade told me his surprise. A savager hunt! I went a little crazy, and I think he enjoyed watching me more than he enjoyed my excellent supper!
Ok on to the 15th- a day before my birthday.
I was just sitting in my dorm before my last class of the day when I got this picture from my sister:
"guess where mom is"
I turned to Claire and said, "My mom is outside our door?" I opened the door and there she was!!!! I was so excited!!! Then my mom said, "Look who else is here." Out walked my dad and sister!! That will probably be my best birthday memory ever.

So today I turned 19, and let me tell you I feel the same. Well...not exactly the same. I'm a whole lot more excited due to surprises and new toys!!!

Claire, being the wonderfully weird best friend she is, got me a typewriter! An actual typewriter. It's heavy and blue and I love it. Oh, she also got my a compass so I know where I am.

My wonderful boyfriend got all of my many hints and got me a Fugi Instax Mini!! It's so cute..so so cute. I can't wait to go polaroid crazy with it. Just gotta wait for some film!!!

And that my friends is all! It was a crazy couple of days but I loved every minute of it! I have an wonderful family and awesome friends!!

tutus

Oh well in five years time we could be walking round a zoo
With the sun shining down over me and you
And there'll be love in the bodies of the elephants too
And I'll put my hands over your eyes, but you'll peep through

noah and the whale-five years time

compliments are just lovely.
aren't they?
