zombies and cake...

is what my weekend consisted of.

friday night claire, linnea, and i went to zombie prom at msum. it was pretty cool. we all had higher expectations, but good company can make anything fun. here is my zombie face:

saturday claire and i shopped downtown fargo. we love shopping downtown. with so many awesome boutiques, who needs department stores? i had red velvet cake for breakfast and almost died of a self induced sugar coma.

claire, brade, and i also went to alice in wonderland. it has been my favorite disney movie since i can remember, and i was not disappointed. johnny depp is the perfect mad hatter and the colors and costumes were amazing. i left feeling inspired. (which is why i drew a castle atop an ice cream cone today)

today (sunday) i spent with my boyfriend. doing laundry, eating malts, and watching movies and the oscars. overall, i had a wonderful weekend. AND only 4 days until spring break! i'm giddy with excitement.

February 14-16

I've been busy!

For starters, my Valentine's Day was awesome! Brade and I went to Valentine's Day, the movie. (Not that great, but cute) after that I told Brade that I would be cooking supper for him! (This is a big surprise because in the 2 and a half years we've been dating I've never made him any type of food at all. I'm an awful cook.) I was really scared! I texted my mom about every 2 minutes. I made baked mashed potatoes, bbq chicken, corn, and chocolate covered strawberries. (I know that one chicken looks burnt to a crisp, but I assure you it wasn't.) I did a good job! After the meal Brade told me his surprise. A savager hunt! I went a little crazy, and I think he enjoyed watching me more than he enjoyed my excellent supper!

Ok on to the 15th- a day before my birthday.

I was just sitting in my dorm before my last class of the day when I got this picture from my sister:

I turned to Claire and said, "My mom is outside our door?" I opened the door and there she was!!!! I was so excited!!! Then my mom said, "Look who else is here." Out walked my dad and sister!! That will probably be my best birthday memory ever.


So today I turned 19, and let me tell you I feel the same. Well...not exactly the same. I'm a whole lot more excited due to surprises and new toys!!!

Claire, being the wonderfully weird best friend she is, got me a typewriter! An actual typewriter. It's heavy and blue and I love it. Oh, she also got my a compass so I know where I am.




My wonderful boyfriend got all of my many hints and got me a Fugi Instax Mini!! It's so cute..so so cute. I can't wait to go polaroid crazy with it. Just gotta wait for some film!!!




And that my friends is all! It was a crazy couple of days but I loved every minute of it! I have an wonderful family and awesome friends!!

Hello World!

This week has been crazy. It's gone by SO SO fast! I still can't believe I'm living with my best friend. How cool is that?! I'm also loving my new class schedule. No class on Friday's! Can't get much better than that. Also, Brade and I made mashed potatoes last night. All by ourselves. We think we're pretty amazing. I get to go home today! WHOO! Sorry this post is so random, but I have to get to drawing now. Hope your week has been as fantastic as mine!

My essentials at the moment: A Big, Heavy Book and Kleenex.

I had to check out a book from the library for my fundamentals of design class. The assignment is to choose a work of art and explain the use of lines. Who would have thought I'd love it SO much?? I checked out thee most awesome book, Art Of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion. It's filled with rock posters and its amazing. I'd love to make rock posters for a living!! Anyway, I love it so much I'm buying the book. Thank you half.com!
The Kleenex are essential because I have a terrible runny nose. It's just awful. My nose is getting all red and nasty and I sound just like a man. I'm hoping it gets better before this weekend!!
